How do you express creativity in your life? Would you like more of it?
“For most people, creativity is a serious business. They forget the telling phrase ‘the play of ideas’ and think that they need to knuckle down and work more. Often, the reverse is true. They need to play.” Julia Cameron
This workshop combines dance and art, using simple techniques accessible to everyone. Whether you love expressing yourself through art or think you don’t have a creative bone in your body, this workshop is for you if you want to play, bring more creativity into every aspect of your life and feel more confident about making ‘mistakes’. Mistakes are nothing but an unexpected adventure into the unknown. Creativity is an adventurous process, it can be exciting, bewildering, scary, sexy, surprising and transcendent.
We’ll be dancing & making collage, transferring processes from the dance floor into art making and back again. When we take the risk to allow ourselves to play we can surprise ourselves by the ease, enjoyment and passion of our own creative aliveness.
Materials provided, however if you can bring an old magazine to share for collage that would be useful.

“And suddenly you know: It’s time to start something new and trust the magic of beginnings.” Meister Eckhart
Many of us come back to the dance, again and again, because, on the floor, we experience unique moments, new beginnings. In these moments, crafted by our practice and blessed by grace, we step out of our conditioning and into infinite possibilities.
Our ancient soul shows us the way to new beginnings.
The journey of this workshop will weave the dancing prayer for these moments of grace with a practice of releasing old stories or letting them dissolve into the unified field.
If you love to dance and your soul thrives in ritual, this is for you.
Ancient Soul New Beginnings.

We are extraordinary creatures, full of emotions, thoughts, creativity, movement, love, longing and sticky bits of mess…places where we get stuck with the free flow of being who we are. Where we can get stuck in being with ourselves and each other with a compassionate listening heart.
Toxic shame is one of the places that leads us into disconnect – with ourselves, each other and our full place in the world around us. The shame that whispers, there’s something wrong with you – hide!
We will look at how shame can contract, harden and stagnate our life force, so our joy has no place to go and our compassion shuts down – these things happen, it’s part of being human.
Usually we do try to hide when this happens to us – and shame comes along. We hide, we don’t trust that we will still be accepted and loved, we try to cover up when we get a bit messy, shut down. Conscious of negative behaviour, conscious of hiding and feeling stuck with it – we can feel shame.
Through Open Floor Movement Practice including inquiry, witnessing and reflection, we will explore the role of toxic shame in our emotional landscapes. We will invite the mover in us to open up to the fluidity of who we are, unravel some of the places we get stuck or hide in. Paradoxically, often when we move what it is we’re hiding, who we are warts and all, it brings us straight into connection with others – we show our vulnerability and we begin to see each other and recognise ordinary and extraordinary, tender, vital parts of ourselves.
